Thirty years ago I left teaching in horror at the intransigence of the system.
It seemed to me that personal computers offered even more opportunity for human growth than television had done sixty years ago.
But the adoption of personal computers into schools was showing all the signs of being distorted in the same way that television was co-opted to the exclusive promotion of capitalism.
That phenomenon diversified with the marvel of internetworking - the internet - and the associated tools culminating with artificial intelligence - AI. I have done a lot of stuff that has helped people use their personal computers. In doing so I made a modest living and I learned a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff to do with what computers can do and people's expectations. Now I'm retired but I still like to do a little bit of stuff from time to time. |
